Part of the life of Momence First Church includes our participation within the Church of the Nazarene. As part of a denomination, we often must take a moment to contemplate the core of our beliefs as a tradition.
Members will find those beliefs summarized in the Church Constitution published in a new online Manual of the Church of the Nazarene, as well as our Covenant of Christian Conduct. We encourage all of our members to review these statements years as part of our renewed commitment to the Nazarene tradition.
What undergirds those beliefs include our reliance on Jesus Christ as revealed in scripture, our acknowledgment of the Triune God as the basis for the Christian faith expressed both through our common confession in Apostle’s Creed, and our common practice in worship & sacraments, prayer, and daily life; and a vision of that daily living often summarized in many ways through the Ten Commandments. To learn more about the basics of our belief, we also encourage members to review the current faith formation document titled One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism published as a resource both for new believers and life-long members.
